I have to disagree about the Tower, as it's the most resource-intensive castle, and it takes a lot of in-game days to fully build it.
The Castle, on the other hand, is perfect for development and very easy to upgrade. You don't build the forge there just for show, and so on... in general, it's "overpowered," as they like to say here.
In the Tower, everything can be easily compensated for with magic. Although I agree that on short maps, it's not that simple. As for the Castle, I can say that if it had a 5th level of magic, it would be overpowered, but as it is, I disagree.
