Upgrade or alternative upgrade?

Here's the situation... The battle is almost over, and combat griffons played a significant role, as they are indeed very strong. The enemy has only a few creatures left, and we have a few griffons remaining. That's why it's good to have a pike unit; even if it doesn't deal much damage, it will disappear from the battlefield for a while, giving the hero time to do something.
