it crashes after the cutscene.

I have a licensed "gold edition," and I'm currently playing through the original campaigns. After defeating Godric (campaign 3, mission 5), a cutscene plays, and the game crashes, prompting me to send a report... The default patch is 1.6, and I've tried installing patches manually, but it still crashes... I can't revert to an earlier version because the game was already installed with version 1.6.
