ValgallaWolf, I actively used the Hive skill in the campaign for the Academy faction. I didn't want to level up the Commander skill. Therefore, there was no Subjugation or Blind skill. Instead, there was Empathy. That's why Zephyr was used very often. Thanks to the Hive and Empathy skills, most heroes could defeat enemies without losses, not to mention neutral creatures.

As for Necropolis, I always level up the Darkness skill. Therefore, the Hive skill is not particularly necessary for him, unless the enemy has leveled up the Light skill. Usually, he has Subjugation and/or Blind.
