Which level 3 monster do you like the most (from Heroes of Might and Magic V)?
I'd like to share my opinion about the Tier 3 units:
Swordsman and similar: excellent cover for the crossbowman, cheap, as durable as Tier 4 tanks, but they hit incredibly weakly, although there's a chance for a counterattack or a double strike for the Zealot. But on the other hand, their monstrous resilience can decide the outcome of a battle. As an example, Iris on a duel server. But still, I think they are more of a defensive unit that should stand behind and protect the archers. In this mission, I think only the Warrior can compare to them.
Dog-like creatures: The only downside I've noticed is that they need immediate and rapid upgrades. "They're weak, don't let them take a hit," said A. Lensky, and I agree. But after the upgrade, this little dog can really mess up the enemy. A very important combat unit, considering their speed and initiative. In my opinion, the second strongest Tier 3 unit.
Golems: another set of tanks, like the Armored Warriors? Unfortunately, yes. For me, they are just protectors of mages. Old golems do respond to all attacks, which is extremely convenient in defense. And with the new ones, you can certainly do a hit-and-run tactic, but that's not for me. If you take a bare golem (without a hero, skills, or anything), it's just dead weight. And they also require blue gems, which are needed for Titans.
Ghosts, spirits, and specters: a nightmare for archers and mages? Come on. Who in their right mind would send them against them? But incorporeality is definitely worth it. No need to comment, everyone has attacked them and knows the consequences. In my hit parade, they are in third place.
Elven archers, snipers, masters of the bow: possibly the best archer in the entire game (except for Titans) - double shot, initiative reduction - always pays off. Although I think the masters of the bow are a bit of a cheat because they are the only ones who can deal four times the damage with a lucky shot + lucky shot. In my opinion, the best Tier 3 unit.
Minotaurs: scary when there is no cavalry or archers on the battlefield, then the minotaurs are the kings of battles, decent defense, which is pleasing, not weak attack, and also a double strike (you will say that the minotaur can also deal four times the damage - yes, I agree). I just don't like them because their construction requires a forge, and why does a Necromancer need a forge?
I don't know who the Barbarians have at Tier 3.
Bears... I can't give a sufficiently objective assessment
