You know, under direct arrow fire, everyone suffers, but at least the aforementioned griffin has a chance to replenish its losses by feasting on those same archers.

We'll see! I'll watch how griffins manage to attack twice in a battle against Elven Archers! They land once, and that's it! (and this applies to any griffin). You simply won't have time to take off a second time, or block the archers (Elven Archers)! One arrow, and all the griffins are gone.
