To prevent Nicholas from having so many dragons, you need to destroy their nests. After that, the map will become much easier, and you can attack Nicholas – he won't resurrect. Here, you can either attack him with phoenixes or destroy the nests. I've never managed to defeat him with phoenixes. The same Seer shows the location of the nests. The last time I played, I did it this way: I destroyed all the nests in the Dungeon, then used a portal to reach Nicholas. There were two more nests there, and I figured out how to get to them without running into him or one of his helpers. I exited the portal, and there was Nicholas, but his army only consisted of 7 Elven Archers. At that moment, I didn't have any phoenixes. I was "smart" and, remembering my previous playthroughs, didn't change the artifacts for phoenixes. But at least I took all the artifacts from Nicholas – every cloud has a silver lining. Knowing that he would resurrect on his next turn, I continued to destroy the nests. Nicholas resurrected with a grand army: 15,000 skeletons, archers, and other troops – a considerable number. However, he had almost no dragons, and he rushed towards me. I ran away from him, capturing all his castles, and then I started leading him around in circles, buying a hero in the castle closest to him, and he would chase after him. I converted all my troops into undead, simply gathered a huge army, and easily defeated him. My army was enormous, with over 1,000 dragons, and I leveled up Faydaen to level 35
