What were your expectations for Heroes 4?

Most of the ideas are good, but due to a lack of thorough planning, they were ultimately ruined.

We shouldn't forget that Heroes of Might and Magic IV was released 6 months ahead of schedule. The only goal was to patch up the budget holes. For the same reason, Might and Magic IX also failed.
But even a game released 6 months early was already almost a finished product. The ideas were well-thought-out. But there was catastrophically little time, as well as money.
Heroes of Might and Magic IV was a game ahead of its time. If they had released some kind of mix before it, then Heroes of Might and Magic IV would have been a super hit upon its release.
