Me neither. But if it deals more damage than Lightning, then of course, I use it. :)

That's also a method, but the Trap under the Mage's Sign is even better (especially against Orcs) and more versatile.

But an experienced Necromancer will more often prefer to cast Shield on a strong stack.

That depends on what spells he has and whether he has this "strong stack." Often, he didn't raise troops evenly - the neutrals just turned out that way...

But where do you get so much mana? We don't have Chaos Magic.

Seriously, I leveled up in Chaos Lords. And on level 23, I took out 122 neutral Yarls in 3 turns with Plague and Wall, and then threw in a few Fireballs...
