Does the plague tent steal positive effects, or just deal damage?

The tent gains the ability to remove negative effects of level 3 if the machine control skill is high... I've removed them several times - it's useful, the tent is just awesome!!! especially at the beginning - 100 peasants and 10 zombies, and it's all hers :D
