So, download Skype, you can organize chats there, and it's very convenient and there are no lags. I haven't checked it yet, but they say that in the latest version (it used to be different), it's implemented so that the chat is in your contact list, for example, a "Heroesworld" chat, and then, just like in ICQ, you open the message window, but the chat remains even after everyone leaves, so it doesn't disappear.
