I'll add something about necromancy: there's a skill in "education" called "Master of the Dead." It's not top-tier, but it increases necromancy by 5%. I rarely take mentorship, but more often this skill, especially if I'm playing...

It's better to take a mentor and level up secondary heroes (and have them learn the "education" skill with mana attraction and dark revelation), and you'll have a lot of dark energy... and the 5% to necromancy will just be "a drop in the ocean." You can even ignore it on Supreme Archmage.:smile01:
