I don't play on auto-battle because I like to personally crush my enemies.
I only activate it when I'm clearly losing against an opponent to save time.
Simply recording battles with low-level creatures, or high-level creatures but in small numbers, is pointless.
There's no point in "cheating" in a battle when I have, for example, a couple of hundred Archliches, and the neutral side has fifty peasants or one Devil; the battle will last no more than a minute, the enemy won't even have time to reach me, and the experience gained will be minimal.
I think it would have been necessary to set a limit on the experience gained, after which a save is required. In my opinion, if it's a battle with neutral creatures, this should be 2000 experience points. But battles with a computer opponent should be saved in their entirety, as there are factors of uncertainty in the form of magic, special hero skills, artifacts, and so on.
