I'll add something about necromancy: there's a skill in the "education" tree called "Lord of the Dead." It's not top-tier, but it increases necromancy by 5%. I rarely take mentorship, and more often choose this skill, especially when I'm playing... Remind me, what's the name of that blonde banshee hero? Anyway, I try to develop her to the point where she has a super ability (which is why "Lord of the Dead" is useful), and then her "banshee scream" puts the opponent in such a deep disadvantage that it's scary!
