Zephyr carries the Tear, which he obtained in this mission. This means he will take it to the next mission.

In principle, that's possible. However, I think a different approach would be more optimal: complete all the tasks in the final mission (capture all the towns). Then, Zephyr will have such a large reinforcement of level 7 monsters that the Tear will no longer be needed.
