As evening falls,
You carry your bag,
When suddenly a group
Runs out from an alley.

In sports pants,
Waving their briefcases;
Their heads
Are crowned with caps.

They surround you,
You're like caught in a net,
And the leader of them says:
"Got any spare change?"

You silently shake your head in response,
And the main thug says sharply:
"What, are you, kid, completely stupid?
And what's with that attitude!"

And then a sound of a blow is heard,
Teeth are crunching and breaking,
One blow after another,
Broken lips are bleeding.

And the cries in the darkness are terrifying,
The sounds of brutal beatings,
Blood is pouring over your face -
The thugs know no peace...

And so, the fight is over -
Everywhere there are bodies, everything is covered in blood,
And you, smiling in the darkness,
Put your trusty bat in your bag.
