Who are you asking? Who is this "them" you're referring to? Or are you addressing me formally? :) :) We are all involved in this – some by choice, others because if they don't participate, the decision will be made without them (and that's likely what will happen). Regarding considering opinions – all opinions will be taken into account, especially those of the future leader. Furthermore, this type of voting helps to find a compromise, which is what we are aiming for. Unfortunately, I can't recall any instance in human history where the outcome pleased everyone. Ultimately, it's up to you/us/them to decide.
