And against the Academy, I would definitely recommend the resistance mentioned above, good fire resistance, and if you encounter Chaos early in the game, it's worth taking – it will be useful against neutral creatures and allows you to increase magic resistance (-20% magic damage).

P.S. And don't let the brown "furniture" get close to you – they can cause trouble, and your abilities to reduce magic damage won't help.
