I'm actually rereading the Strugatsky brothers, starting with the very first volume (about conquering Venus, about Golconda, I forgot the title, it's on the tip of my tongue), and finishing the second ("Noon, 22nd Century," "Interns"). My favorite characters are Bykov, Yurkovsky, Zhilin, and others. They don't have any short stories, novellas, or novels that are bad. They're all excellent. I recommend buying the entire series of books, a collection. For those who are interested, you can trace how the writing style changes – from clumsy to excellent language. One problem with my collection is the memoirs of one of the brothers. I absolutely don't like them: constant criticism of the Soviet government, which, by the way, fed them. But that's not the topic; that's more about the author's personality. Ah, it's a pity that nothing came true... Where are you, photon starships?
