Actually, new alt-upgrades have improved them, especially the new demons (level 2), dogs (level 3), and horses (level 5).

Yes, the demons with jumping are great, but the new dogs aren't the best option because they are twice as weak as the regular ones, and the new succubi are just amazing. I meant that they tweaked the stats, and for the old upgrades, although I'm not entirely sure, I haven't checked myself.
