Which level 1 creature is better?

Damacon, well, they're definitely not Gremlins and Trogols. I'm curious, what guides your choices? Do you consider that Centaurs have higher speed? And what about attack and defense skills? Trogols are worse than many in almost every parameter. Gremlins are good in some ways – they're weak, but they shoot and reproduce well.
