Moderator elections.

This all seems familiar to me... Can't you remember, comrades? If not, let me remind you, for the sake of those who have been here for a while, and explain it to those who are new... This is about a general vote... It's all well and good, but remember last summer! The topic of selecting moderators and coordinators was raised... A vote was held. And then the following happened: 1) The topic turned into a flood of irrelevant posts and flame wars. 2) The topic was closed and forgotten. 3) Although it was stated that the selected candidates would eventually be presented to the Creator for approval, it seems this never happened. Perhaps the summer and vacation season were to blame! So, if a vote is to be held, it must be approached with all due responsibility, so that it doesn't turn out the same way as always! And, of course, we need to nudge the Creator to see what he thinks about it – perhaps he already has candidates in mind! He has long promised us changes... we're waiting... waiting... waiting... And finally... Before nominating anyone, be sure to ask them: are they even willing to accept this appointment? And remember that this is a responsible task; we already have plenty of moderators who don't do their job. Is it worth creating more? So, you should think carefully about whether you need it and whether you can handle it, and whether you can take on such responsibility. Read the rules for moderators and coordinators for a change! In general, I was called a janitor and told that my job is to clean up the mess... It's a rude thing to say, and it's even a little hurtful... But there's some truth to it. A moderator should monitor the order in their assigned section, delete empty topics, irrelevant posts, and especially flame wars, and also be able to distinguish between what is irrelevant and what is not, move topics, close them, and so on. I won't list everything! Coordinators have more extensive responsibilities! But they also require even greater responsibility! By the way, don't forget about bans... And can you adequately assess the situation and decide whether a person deserves a ban or not? This requires determination, impartiality, and even courage! In general, what I'm getting at is that people should think carefully about what it means to be a moderator and coordinator! And not think: oh, this is cool! Now I'm not just a user, but a moderator! Green, as they say! (or dark blue!) I'm like an administrator – I can do a lot! And in no case should they use this for their own purposes, such as threatening someone (and if you, yes you... I'll delete your posts, etc.). In general, think about it and approach it with all due responsibility!
