I think dwarves aren't that bad, especially I like the hero specialized in Mountain Guards. Firstly, he has excellent skills from the beginning, and secondly, after building a tavern, I try to upgrade the Mountain Guards as soon as possible because the new upgrade is just amazing. I cleared half the map with just these guards. If you level up quickly, they will also attack first when defending, and with their stats, it's just devastating. When they stand still, they have 26 defense, 12 attack, and 16 health, and there are 150 of them! It's just some kind of killing machine.
