After being defeated by the wizards, the necromancers shifted their influence to the lands of men. There, the ground was already fertile, prepared by Markel, Sandro's second apprentice, and a loyal ally of Lucretia. Many people agreed to become undead, as they feared death. The cult of necromancy began to gain strength again, but this time, they learned from their mistakes. Secrecy was the key to their power. Now, the necromancers clearly tried not to act openly.
