The meaning of life.

...the meaning is what you create for yourself. If you set a goal for yourself, it becomes the meaning of your life, purely from the perspective of your morality. But there is simply no global meaning of life as such.

I completely agree, with the caveat that it's not so much that you create it yourself, but rather that it's instilled in you in childhood by your parents and society. In childhood, you are told: this is good, you should do it; this is bad, you shouldn't, and you believe it and act accordingly. I'm not trying to overturn or distort anyone's moral values or worldview; I'm simply saying that if we were all instilled from the earliest childhood with the idea that sticking wooden sticks into the ground, for example, is the highest good for humanity, and that this is the true meaning of life, I am sure that we would all do it and be happy that we are doing a great thing. In my opinion, it's all a matter of upbringing, as well as the environment in which a person is raised and lives.
