Aivengo, a restart means that you go back to the main menu from a save and choose "Replay Scenario." In essence, the game creates a new set of random objects and parameters as defined on the map. You can achieve the same result by simply reopening the map without touching the initial save. In other words, if you save the game after a restart, the save file will show that it is no longer a continuation of the game based on the save file provided by the organizers, because everything will be different there (e.g., spells in magic towers, artifacts in utopias, etc.).
