A player should not be allowed to buy an enemy hero if the hero is not level 1 or has artifacts.

That makes sense; if the computer levels up heroes, and then I beat them and get leveled-up heroes to attack neutral creatures... I agree.
But all my heroes are level 1 when I buy them; they were previously on the map.

Or are you looking at daily saves with the entire map revealed?

Exactly, that's why I, for example, didn't know that: X-player lost Y-hero on Z-day.
