I've played, and I don't see anything wrong with it!
When playing against Nimue (in my opinion, one of Sinister's strongest opponents), Sinister determines the outcome of the battle. Let me explain for those who don't understand: Sinister goes first - I cast Meteor Shower; if I'm lucky, I win; if not, I lose.

Lethos is a weak hero; he has one slot that is essentially filled with a useless skill. And without luck, he's nowhere. Especially against Orcs.

I don't see anything wrong with that: he goes first, the battle also practically depends on him; if he's lucky and inflicts plague on many units, then the outcome of the battle will be 80% in his favor.
