I think orange isn't a color for a dungeon. Blue or purple would be better.
And why masks? Can't you just make them look ugly?

Actually, I planned to include not only Illithid heroes but also a couple of humans and maybe an Ifrit.
And with a mask, you won't be able to see their face, and no one will understand who's there. Otherwise, it will be like with elves and others – they all look the same. At least with the mask, you won't be able to see their face.
