Mages only have decent units in the form of Titans and Rakshasa...
The hero's mana will eventually run out, no matter what.
You have to search for a magic well after every serious battle...

Mana is unlikely to run out, as education is the main parameter for mages! What spells do you use in every battle that cause the mana to run out??? If you play on a large map against a slow opponent, the mages will accumulate a very large amount of mana!
