Which level 1 monster do you like the most in Heroes of Might and Magic V?

Why are Gremlins weak? As ranged units, they are quite good, even better than Scouts. They repair Golems, and against weak and medium-strength neutral creatures, this is a significant argument in favor of both Golems and Gremlins. I personally like them, but that's just my opinion.
