Which level 1 monster do you like the most in Heroes of Might and Magic V?

What are the stats of the first-level Dwarves? As far as I remember, they aren't particularly strong in terms of attack, but they have high defense. And I don't remember their growth rate... As for the skeletons (and all the other units), I'd like to test everything in practice. Theoretically, you could create a duel scenario in the editor and give the heroes only a certain number of growth levels (or just one).
