Vampires. Discussion.

I always thought that liches, like other undead, are raised from graves. And (in my opinion) the one who was resurrected has no mind – they are puppets. (This isn't just about Heroes 5, but about fantasy in general).

That was a knockout. Liches are raised from graves? O.o A lich is a mage who has undergone a super-duper cool dark ritual, hidden his life in a phylactery, and continues to study magic even after death. And not necessarily evil. Most often, liches are neutral, and elf liches are even good :D But here we're talking about vampires, so shhh xD
