Yes, it turned out to be an overly blatant trap. But who doesn't make mistakes? What is the length of your list of blunders throughout all the experiences, Nebos? Have you never made hasty decisions? Is the Mage Guild a god incarnate who never makes mistakes? You have, many times. But there was no Yaschur who would throw you face-first into the mud for that.
I would understand if Yaschur hadn't asked and you had simply forgotten about the food mechanic, which you wrote about earlier and which is quite vague (which is normal), and just sent him packing. But he specifically asked, in a specific situation, suspecting a trick. You replied that there were no effects. I don't know how else to interpret his question and your answer so that it looks like a random mistake rather than deception.
Of course, there have been many mistakes. Revan did some, and so did others in the Skype chat.
I admit my mistake regarding the food.
Okay, thank you.
but everything else is speculation and, in my understanding as the creator of the experience, is not true. According to the original plan, the players' characters should not have died at all in this experience. Getting into unpleasant situations, yes. That's what the experience is all about. The setting isn't about pink Yashchurs on a rainbow field. There is always a chance to get out unscathed. If someone likes to think otherwise, okay. It's up to each individual player.
Well, yes, speculate, but what are the options? I can't read minds, and trying to predict the Mage Guild's moves is necessary to adjust the characters to what's happening and, if lucky, avoid getting hit with something nasty.
a) Revan killed himself against the Necromancer, knowing full well that it was a Necromancer. Lerad didn't initially intend to kill him.
Yes, Revan tried to die, that's true. But he wasn't killed outright; he was turned into an undead creature under control.
b) Nowhere does it say that there is anything at all on Ide. This is how Neyra roleplays, and I use this to build tension by using completely unrelated events.
There was an episode when she told a story about Mahru to Aristarkh, and she felt bad. She felt bad in terms of game mechanics, not just formally, if I remember correctly, I'm too lazy to look for the post. There may have been something else that I forgot.
c) Khryash could have resisted. He just didn't. The chances were very low, though. In fact, it was just a regular game mechanic check for seduction from a perfectly normal spellcaster of that mob.
Well, what could he do? In reality, he came under control, was raped, and received a permanent debuff that radically affects combat, considering that he is a bomber who can destroy the entire squad with a couple of bombs. It is also unknown whether it is possible to remove/re-subordinate him.
a) definite control.
b) potential control.
c) probable control during battle.
So, what conclusion should I draw as a player, seeing this three times (four - the episode with Aristarkh, only now I remembered the episode with Utar - five)? Only one conclusion: that all the others will face the same fate.
