Inside Aristar's noisy tent, two almost naked wrestlers greeted him, fighting each other according to an ancient tradition of the northern provinces of the empire. It seems this sport was called "gachis." Well, the argument arose from neither side wanting to admit defeat.

Does Aristar want to chat with the guys?

Aristar didn't understand much about "combat and wrestling arts." He was "of a somewhat different profile," so he probably wouldn't be able to resolve the "dispute." He wanted to talk, but on the other hand, he didn't want to "interfere."
