It seems that, apart from the message on the adventure map, "Some caravans cannot move further," there is nothing else.

No, the screenshot above shows the message from the caravan viewing panel, which is accessed in the hiring window. It's needed to see how much time they have left to travel.

I use the panel, but I've never actually paid attention to stuck caravans; the message doesn't fit there, and it looks like that "Cannot move the caravan" message.
