The plot of Heroes of Might and Magic V.

Wow, you actually liked it. I didn't expect that :) So, the next campaign is about necromancers, which, in my opinion, is the most interesting one in the original game. We start playing as Markel, yes, the one with the skull that gives +5 to magic and knowledge but -2 to spirit! This means he's going to die, which is a shame, he was a charismatic old man. Before, Markel was a respected advisor to Queen Fiona, but after her death, the persecution of necromancers began, and Markel was kicked out. The mission starts, if I'm not mistaken, at the queen's cemetery, where Markel decides to restore his former glory and so on. In the first mission, at the beginning, he has to escape from patrols of mages who guard the place of his exile. After successfully escaping them, Markel approaches one of the Imperial cities, where he sees a brawl between people. The reason for this is a civil war. Not everyone liked that after Nicholas's death, Isabel took over. Markel is a smart person (yes, by the way, he's still alive, unlike some necromancers) and decides to help the queen. After killing the rebel knight, we gain Isabel's favor. Hooray! Markel decides to restore the necromancer infrastructure, so the second mission is to rebuild Mythgard, an ancient and powerful city of necromancers that was destroyed during their persecution. In the third mission, Markel, with a large army, goes to Cyrus, the ruler of the Silver Cities, to take revenge for the past, namely for the war of the Broken Staff, which the necromancers lost. Along the way, Markel also acquires powerful necromancer artifacts: the Cloak of Deadly Shadow, the Ring of Sinners, and the Staff of the Underworld, which he needs to fulfill Isabel's dream: the resurrection of Nicholas. And where is the necromancer's amulet, the attentive reader will ask? But it didn't exist yet :) By the way, in this mission, the staff is super powerful – it turns captured mage cities into necropolises! Markel also takes the cloak for himself, but the ring is with Cyrus himself, who uses it to escape to a parallel world. Markel jumps after him, prudently taking 20 bone dragons with him :) The fourth mission is dedicated to killing Cyrus. We wander around the map, killing neutrals, and at the end, Cyrus is waiting for us. The fifth mission: Godric doesn't like that Isabel listens to Markel more than to him, and he also doesn't like the resurrection of Nicholas. And Markel doesn't like that Godric talks too much while being on an inaccessible island :) Markel decides to lure Godric out by capturing his daughter, Frida, hoping for the knight's nobility and that he will come to save her himself. But instead of himself, Godric sends a squad of angel interceptors, which Markel easily kills. Our necromancer is a very cruel person because he cuts off the angels' wings and flies on them across the sea straight to Godric (I'm not kidding! :) ), where he defeats his army and brings the rebel himself directly to the queen. After this mission, there's an interlude: the resurrection of Nicholas. Markel performs the rituals, and so on, abracadabra, and Nicholas rises from the dead! Isabel rushes to him, saying "my love," and so on. But Nicholas is not happy; he says that he feasted with Elrath himself, sat surrounded by his ancestors, and now he has been torn from there forever and is cursed. And Isabel notices a strange light in her husband's eyes and his pale skin – Nicholas has become a vampire. Isabel is in shock, and Markel is secretly happy. The next campaign is about dark elves; I'll write about it a little later, as I'm already tired :)
