I don't know, I didn't even try to look for anything in the files, but I'll throw in an idea for you to consider. Are you sure that this is even done in the game/map files?
"Documents" - "My games" - "Heroes of Might and Magic V — Tribes of the East" (if there are several such folders, you need the one with the long "—" dash) - "Profiles"
and here we suddenly have an interesting file called "HallOfFame.sav". Also, if you go to the "desired profile" - "saves", you can find another interesting file "Campaign.sav", which is responsible for saving any progress in the campaigns on the current profile. You can dig around in these files if you don't know where else to look; maybe you'll find something.
P.S. although most likely the problem of being "spontaneously" thrown into the Hall of Fame is not there; it only contains results and saves. But maybe you'll find something interesting :D
