An expedition? What made it interesting to Kof?
– Definitely the cheesemakers, – Rurek confidently replied to the chieftain. – You see, Kof... I was present at the creation of the expedition at the throne of Ona. It consists of a small group of humans and representatives of the Ikazkan races. These guys started arguing almost immediately. In the expedition, almost everyone is looking out for themselves, and half of the participants are embroiled in a story with the cheesemakers and the Eye Tribe. I think that right now, no one there is looking for the surface. Everyone is too busy. I wouldn't be surprised if the expedition is just a gathering of spies and informants from each human tribe. And these tribes have never been good at getting along.
– The expedition is led by an elf, though. But they are scientists. And they are always driven by curiosity.
– The problem lies not in the expedition members, but in where their hands reach. If this "surface" exists, and if it is found, how many more people will then come to our home? Dozens, hundreds, thousands?
– Millions? Billions? – Gaal threw in numbers that the inhabitants of the Dungeon rarely had reason to use, but few appreciated his knowledge.
– Furthermore, the group you are talking about does not limit the scope of this situation. In the Antrum, I encountered a creature... It looks like neither a human nor an Ivilai, but with ears like ours, the Furies, and it is 29 tin tall. Its speech is insane, if you listen to it, you will go crazy, but it says that it came from the surface and remembers everything. The members of the expedition, and especially the humans, must not be allowed to come into contact with it!
– So why don't you just kill this creature? – Ball asks, continuing to stare at Lu's backside. – You should be good at that.
– I tried, but I couldn't – it slips away from my fangs and claws like a ghost!
