Ikazkan

An endless sky — sometimes clear and blue, sometimes melancholically gray, and at times gloomy and dark. On its nightly canvas, the naked eye beholds a wondrous view of infinite stars, and by day — the omnipresent sun, bright and scorching. The sky, which welcomes raindrops and storm clouds, is alien to Ikazkan and its inhabitants. Instead, lifting one's gaze reveals only a granite ceiling. The humans who found themselves here remember little of their past or the circumstances that brought them here, but only a local could fail to realize that Ikazkan lies deep underground. Claustrophobia, however, threatens no one — the expanses of this city, divided by lava flows resembling rivers, are vast indeed, and one cannot complain about the level of ambient lighting. The architecture inspires with its beauty, and the abundant comforts and warmth of the locals ward off despair.

Long, long ago, a group of people from Tezot, for reasons now unknown even to themselves, ended up in this mysterious underground realm, and from the unenviable fate of meeting their end through some tragedy — starvation, monster fangs, burns — they were saved by the Ivylai who took them in. What Tezot is — a country, a continent, or something else — no one remembers, nor how long ago it all happened. In Ikazkan, time is not counted, the time of day never changes, and the way of life of the local inhabitants is too different from the human one. Be that as it may, much time has passed, and now, for the first time since then, a new group of people has found themselves underground. Stories of the surface always seemed quite fascinating to the Ivylai, but they never had a pressing reason to find a path to it. This time, however, among the lost humans was an individual greatly vexed by this state of affairs, and her longing for her home and daylight was answered by Óna, something of an informal leader of the underground's inhabitants. At her request, the organization of an unprecedented expedition was set in motion — upward, to Tezot!

Inhabitants of the Depths
Ivylai
The native people of Ikazkan, comprising the bulk of its population. Without a doubt — the most mysterious creatures of the depths. Outwardly similar to humans, yet devoid of flaws — every Ivylai possesses neat facial features and slender bodily proportions. They are short of stature — from 24 to 29 tins, with magnificent wings on their backs that grant them the ability to move freely across the vast expanses of their native Ikazkan; their hair grows only on their heads (+ eyelashes, eyebrows), and long hairstyles are the custom; their unique digestive system completely dissolves food and expels its remnants through sweat glands, with the sweat itself having a pleasant scent. They lack reproductive organs and the capacity for reproduction, although women still have decorative breasts, which, combined with other factors, invites speculation about the artificial origin of these beings. The horns on their heads indicate age — the longer they are, the closer the end of the life cycle.
When an Ivylai's heart stops, their body disintegrates, but Óna can bring them back to life, and the "price" for this is a portion of their memories — not her need, but a natural reaction of the organism during bodily restoration. The natural life cycle of the Ivylai is about twenty years. This allows them to exist for a very long time without growing weary of repeating the same things. Ivylai are incapable of grasping many concepts familiar to humans — lies, hierarchy, ideology, cruelty, and much more are utterly alien to them. Their society has no money or even barter — goods and services are provided as needs arise and as the desire exists (example: people of Tezot end up in Ikazkan -> a need arises to provide them with housing -> materials are gathered, a house is built). Some people tried to abuse this unusual system of relations for personal gain, but it soon became clear that hoarding has little point here, and the locals, though good-natured, are not naive enough to do foolish work.
[The character can fly], [immunity to ailments of mind and body], [immunity to seduction], [flame of Ikazkan], aesthetics +10.

Sords
Bruisers with an average height of 50 tins. Traditionally live in caverns alone, with a partner, or with children until the latter come of age. Prefer to spend their time at their favorite pursuits, the most common being smithing and ore mining. Peaceful by nature, but capable of defending themselves when necessary, aided by their incomparable physical might. Their primary diet consists of the meat of various animals and monsters of the depths. They may have non-standard ears, horns grow on their heads, but many Sords prefer to file them off for convenience.
[The character deals double damage in melee], [health is twice as high], [physical work efficiency is higher], +5 to fortitude, +5 to body.

Myrdars
They have no body hair, are blind (their eyes are almost white, usually hidden behind closed eyelids), but possess excellent hearing and immunity, and are very active and hardworking — they live in tunnels that they dig themselves, in separate families headed by the eldest member of the lineage. They typically feed on insects, plants, and fungi.
[Immunity to bodily ailments, immunity to poison], [excellent hearing, access to detection], [protection from negative effects that reduce accuracy and evasion], +5 to insight, +5 to energy.

Furies
Fur-covered humanoids with animal tails and ears as well as corresponding muzzles, distinguished by excellent sense of smell and sharp claws on hands and feet. Tribes of Furies dwell in cool cavities far from the hot Ikazkan. At the head of a tribe stands its best hunter.
[Excellent sense of smell, access to detection], [SP twice as high], [immunity to critical attacks], +3 to body, +2 to insight, +2 to fortitude, +2 to energy.

Elms
Ebonite sorcerer-loners who prefer to avoid society; most often occupied with some kind of research. They live wherever their interests take them; they eat whatever comes to hand. They have pointed ears.
[Once per battle, the character survives a fatal attack and remains at 1 HP], [spirit twice as high], [the character can dodge spells], +5 to mind, +5 to fortitude.

People of Tezot
Diverse inhabitants of the "surface." Some ended up in Ikazkan "long, long ago," others recently, and still others were born to the former. In total, there are several hundred humans within Ikazkan and its environs.
No memories of life on the surface, access to the Ladder of Fate, choice of one of the communities, 21 points of characteristics for free distribution, but no more than 7 in any one.

Communities
In Ikazkan, there is no custom of gathering into organizations, but humans, evidently driven by some natural instincts, inevitably gravitate toward interest groups.
Óna's Minions
Óna is, without doubt, the most important and powerful figure not only of Ikazkan but of the entire underground. Yet, although she enjoys great love and reverence from the inhabitants of these lands, she holds no special status in society. She is not a queen before whom one kneels and kisses her feet, but a whimsical friend to whom one goes for help and advice. Nevertheless, some particularly impressionable and fanatical people have elevated Óna to a divine status and founded something of a cult in her honor.
Bonus: conviction — "Óna's Minion" — affinity to fire, immunity to seduction, access to studying the spells "Óna's Sphere" and "The Last Hour," and the skill "Rending of Reality."
Warriors of the Depths
Compared to the local inhabitants, a human is less hardy and worse adapted to life underground, and therefore very vulnerable to the diverse and aggressive creatures that populate these lands. This community was founded to address that problem: here, people take lessons in martial mastery from the best masters of Ikazkan and, due to the peculiarities of their thinking, even reach heights inaccessible to the original source.
Bonus: enhancement of certain skills.
Gatherers of Knowledge
A community founded by Lord Cartridge with the aim of accumulating facts about the underworld. He and his comrades exchange new information and categorize it for future use.
Bonus: +1 to a random characteristic for every 15 entries about characters (must meet them), cities (must visit them), convictions (must meet someone who practices them), skills (must know them oneself or see them applied), origins (must meet their representatives), and significant events.
Sorcerers of the Depths
Contrary to the fact that magic comes harder to humans than to other sentient inhabitants of the depths, particularly persistent mages achieve significant success in this craft; exchanging knowledge with comrades helps them in this.
Bonus: spells cost only half of the skill limit.
