Sacred Haven of Debauchery

I'm currently playing Gothic 2. It's very difficult; only wolves and goblins can be killed relatively easily. The first time I played, it was as a mage, and even then, it was tough. How do you play as a warrior? The orcs are brutally strong, and even bandits are a problem. Two bandits are already a significant challenge. I don't want to play as a mage again.

Anyway, I've reached the point where Lord Andrei took me into the militia, and I don't know what to do next.
