Lock to 60 FPS or VSync?

Since there are so many kind and helpful people here, I will continue to ask my questions Sorry in advance, I'm 90% sure that this has been discussed on the forum many times, but honestly, I couldn't find anything.

In short, I played Heroes 5 without paying much attention for about 5 years, the computer was buzzing, but I was either too stupid, or too lazy, or both, so I usually didn't care. But after 5 years, I started to feel something, and I decided - it's time! So, I checked, and Heroes 5 loads my video card at 98% hahaha I'm playing through a virtual machine with 4GB, the settings are on full, and the game gives 400-600 fps well, yes, it's a sad moment. I decided to try to limit my fps to the quality of my old monitor - that is, to 60 fps.

And that's basically the question - is there any mod for limiting? Or should this be done not with a mod, but in the config? I just went into my Heroes profile, the user_a2.cfg file, and set the gfx_vsync line to 1. Experts, what do you think, did I do it right? Or should I do it differently? Or should I use a mod? Or what?
