I think I said the opposite, that a VPN could be the reason for the IP block. Perhaps the selected VPN had a lot of traffic, which is typical for public VPNs that are often used for spam.

HeroesWorld is a non-profit Community and has been supported by pure enthusiasm for over 20 years, so I cannot comment on the reference to a paid subscription. The site is not on the list of prohibited resources, and access problems may be related only to internet providers that, for some reason, cannot establish a stable route to the server. Unfortunately, some Russian providers are experiencing difficulties accessing European servers; this is a known issue.


The measures taken to combat bots are aimed at keeping the site online, rather than letting it die from the load created by spam bots or DDoS attacks.

If you have any suggestions on how to improve things, I am always ready to listen.

The VPN could not be the reason for the block; it wasn't there before the block. I only installed it when I was no longer allowed to access the site, in order to report this.
This is not the first block; it's exactly the same. The site tries to load for a while and then displays "Error establishing a secure connection" or immediately "Access denied." I thought it would be resolved within a day, as it was last time, but no, so I installed a VPN and wrote about it. The provider knows nothing about this. They may be experiencing difficulties, but they won't tell me, and I highly doubt that they suddenly can't access forum.heroesworld.ru. No other sites that I use regularly have been blocked; only this one stopped working overnight.

Perhaps you should check on your end. If the site is not on the list of blocked sites by the RKN, why are some users no longer able to access the site and now use a VPN? Or, can you suggest something specific for me to check on my end.
