I’m giving you feedback: they come across as frankly bad and awkward, and the message is completely misinterpreted. It’s better to just leave them out than to do it like that. I don’t put hidden meanings into my messages, and you don’t need to look for any subtext; a cigar is just a cigar. If I write, “Please explain what you meant, I don’t understand,” that’s exactly what I mean, and not “Oh no, I’m being offended again.”
