Cassius limped to the edge of the arena and collapsed on one knee. He felt the tremors in his hands and legs slowly subside – not from pain, but, strangely enough, from fatigue and wounds. He couldn't even remember the last time someone had managed to bring him to a state where he couldn't continue the fight. The very words "I can't" seemed foreign, almost forgotten. And now – here he is, exhausted and about to collapse. Yet, Aurelius didn't experience a strong shock. The Crimson Knight had been a worthy opponent, even before the competition began. After the clashes, it became even clearer. Now – it was definite and without a shadow of a doubt. In a sense, Cassius was pleased with the defeat. It reminded him that even someone like him could be defeated. Continuing to stand on one knee, the Legranian took off his helmet and spat out the blood that had accumulated in his mouth. Finding the strength, he stood up. His vision was still blurred, and the surrounding sounds merged into an indistinguishable cacophony.
