The problem lies in the lines of the artwork. It's like a line, but it's a bit strange, disappearing unexpectedly as if in patches... If it were real clothing, the lines would be solid, and there would probably be folds and shadows, because such clothing, if it's a sweater, has a shape, not just a flat surface.
But I still don't see any problems. There's volume, and that's the main thing.
And I can't agree that every artist should draw all these solid lines in absolute photo-realism.
Maybe the person drew it as best they could and doesn't really understand lines. Or maybe they just don't like drawing clothes.
