Well, if you're going to counter something, you should ONLY counter Darkness. Because summoning creatures on large maps is not very effective when Cyclops are fighting dozens of enemies, and a single Phoenix is more likely to be a joke. But things like controlling creatures, Berserkers, and large numbers of units can really shine. And yes, a maximum-sized map is almost a guaranteed victory. But there's one small "but." It's possible, though difficult, to arrive on the 4th week and rush with Orson, which is a death sentence for an unprepared Orc. Just keep an eye on the tavern for a Necromancer hero, and you won't have any problems.
Okay, fine... let's say he comes with zombies and Orson, and the Orc is in the castle... and how do you deal with the Orc?? Do you use machines to break down the wall? Or throw Berserkers at him? Maybe I'm missing something, but I really don't understand...
