Maybe I didn't understand something...

Remove the inventory from her. Or at least, at the very least, the cloak and desert boots and the amulet. We have a squad, and it wasn't purchased with state funds. Even her gear isn't state-issued, whether it's the sword or whatever else she had. At a minimum, the remaining three students of Kira have the right to it, starting with the commander.
