Well, this isn't exactly a problem if the work is "clean," and a contract is what's expected. If, however, the plan involves a long-term, formal employment contract under these conditions, then there is usually no such "warm-up" period, and both parties understand this in advance. What else could you expect when someone takes on an obviously temporary position?
