We’ve turned into a Hive, things are getting serious.

I'm good, they're bad. I didn't specifically aim to get into that particular company; my priority was the position and the field of work. If they can't offer me what I want, then good riddance; I wasn't desperate at that point. I considered jokingly pretending to be naive and writing, "I'm not interested in this, but I'd like to apply for your awesome position," but I couldn't be bothered. I don't remember if I had already submitted five more applications or if I was already pursuing a more interesting opportunity. Maybe that approach works for some, but not for me. I prefer to decide what I need myself. I've had enough of others making decisions for me.
